1. Who needs a Visa?
Non-Thai nationals are required to apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Consulate-General in their country of residence or at the designated Thai Embassy/ Consulate-General unless they are eligible for visa exempt schemes or come from a country whose citizens are eligible to obtain a Visa on Arrival).

Holders of ordinary passports
Applicants for Tourist (TR and TR-MT), Transit (TS and S) and Non-Immigrant (B / IB, ED, F, M, O, O-A, O-X and R) Visa categories are requested to submit required documents for the application at

Holders of diplomatic, official passports and UNLP
Holders of official, diplomatic passports UNLP are requested to send email to [email protected] to make an appointment for visa application and submit required documents directly at the Embassy after receiving an appointment date.
Holders of NEPALI OFFICIAL passport do not need a visa to enter Thailand.

The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of an immigration officer.
6. List of countries declared as Yellow Fever Infected Areas
The Ministry of Public Health has issued regulations that applicants who have travelled from or through the countries declared as Yellow Fever Infected Areas must provide an International Health Certificate proving that they have received a Yellow Fever Vaccination.
The International Health Certificate must be submitted with a visa application form. Travelers also have to present the said certificate to an immigration officer upon arrival at the port on entry into Thailand.
For nationals of the countries on the list but have not travelled from/through those countries, the certificate is not required. However, it is needed to show a concrete evidence that their domicile is not in an infected area. (click here for the list of countries.).
