Thailand donates additional 46 oxygen concentrators to Nepal

On 28 May 2021, H.E. Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, presided over the handover ceremony of 46 oxygen concentrators for treatment of COVID-19 patients in Nepal, which were donated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, the Thai Overseas Dhammaduta Bhikkhus to India-Nepal, the Royal Thai Monastery Lumbini, and the Verapuchong Foundation, to Mr. Mahendra Prasad Shrestha, Chief Specialist, Ministry of Health and Population on behalf of the Government of Nepal. The said oxygen concentrators arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport by cargo flight of Shree Airlines SHA 4326 on 28 May 2021.

Earlier this month, 17 oxygen concentrators have been donated by Thai people through the channel of the Thai Overseas Dhammaduta Bhikkhus to India-Nepal and the Royal Thai Monastery Lumbini which have been transported to Nepal on 14 May 2021. To date, Thailand has donated 63 oxygen concentrators to Nepal.

The donation of oxygen concentrators to Nepal is part of Thailand’s humanitarian efforts to assist Nepal in its efforts to prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The donation reflects the warm and cordial ties between Thailand and Nepal and between their two peoples.
